Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe’s exposure on the Sri Lanka Cricket has prompted the opposition to submit a joint resolution in Parliament tomorrow to remove office bearers of the Sri Lanka Cricket.
The agreement to submit a joint resolution was taken at a meeting of the party leaders today afternoon soon after the Sports Minister made a special statement on the Cricket Board and related cases.
As Mr Ranasinghe was making his statement in Parliament today, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa proposed to the Parliament that the Opposition and the Government members should be able to collectively pass a resolution and remove the Cricket Board officials.
Accordingly Deputy Speaker adjourned Parliament and a Party leaders meeting was taken to decide on the resolution.
A vote is due to be taken at the end of the debate.
