An extraordinary gazette has been issued again declaring petroleum, electricity, and health services as essential services.
The gazette notice signed by President Ranil Wickremesinghe stated that all services connected to the supply of electricity, the supply or distribution of petroleum products and fuel, and all services in connection with the maintenance, care feeding, and treatment of patients in hospitals, nursing homes, and dispensaries have been declared as essential services.
The above three sectors were declared as essential services through a similar gazette by President Wickremesinghe on September 3 last year.
