The police are continuing their search for suspended Inspector General of Police, Deshabandu Tennakoon and believe he remains in the country though a search of several days has not yielded results.
The Police Media Spokesman SSP Buddika Manatunga told the times online that they have not received any information that the suspended IGP Tennakoon has left the country. The Police have taken a court order suspending overseas travel for Mr. Tennakoon.
The suspended IGP is evading arrest since a court order was issued for his arrest. His failure to surfer to court has prompted the police to take measures to arrest him.
He added that Police teams had been deployed to search the places where the suspended IGP could be hiding, and they would not give special treatment since he held the office as the inspector general of police.
The telephone call records as well as places where he can be staying are being subjected to thorough search.
