Police seized 31, 390 narcotic pills hidden on a farm in Mannar yesterday (29) and arrested one suspect.
A search was carried out at the farm following a tip-off received by the Crime Investigation Division of the Mannar Police. According to police, officers who conducted the search discovered the narcotic pills concealed inside a box.
Investigations have revealed that the narcotic pills had been smuggled into the country from India and hidden at this location to be transported to other locations in the country, said police.
The arrested suspect is a 32-year-old resident of Emilnagar and he along with the seized narcotic pills will be produced before the Mannar Magistrate's Court.
