President Ranil Wickremesinghe has restructured the secretaries to eight ministries which will come into effect from January 2023 and extended the term of the secretaries to three ministries.
M. Yamuna Perera was appointed as the Secretary to the Ministry of Women Child Affairs & Social Empowerment, M.M. Naimuddin to the Ministry of Investment Promotion and R.M.W.S Samaradivakara to the Ministry of Tourism and Lands.
M.M.P.K. Mayadunne was appointed as Secretary to the Ministry of Transport & Highways, he served as the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government.
H.K.D.W.M.N.B. Hapuhinne who served as the Secretary to the Ministry of Women Child Affairs & Social Empowerment has been appointed to the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils & Local Government served as the Secretary to the Ministry of Women Child Affairs & Social Empowerment.
More Secretaries were appointed by the President as follows:
K. Mahesan as secretary to the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs,
P.V. Gunatillake as the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security and A.M.P.M.B. Attapattu as the Secretary to the Ministry of Trade, Commerce Food Security.
The term of the Secretary to the Ministry of Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reform Mrs. Wasantha Perera, the Secretary to the Ministry of Education Mr. M.N. Ranasinghe and the Secretary to the Ministry of Irrigation Mr. U.D.C.Jayalal was extended for one more year.
