President holds talks with Vietnamese counterpart

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake who is on a state visit to Vietnam held discussions with President Luong Cuong today.

‘This visit aims to strengthen political trust and foster effective collaboration across multiple sectors between the two nations,’ the President Media Division said.

President Dissanayake was accorded a ceremonial welcome with full military honours upon his arrival at the Presidential Palace of Vietnam this morning (05).

The Sri Lankan President is in Vietnam to attend the 20th United Nations Day of Vesak.

The main theme for this year’s UN Day of Vesak will be “Unity and Inclusivity for Human Dignity: Buddhist Insights for World Peace and Sustainable Development”.
