The new Secretary Ministry of Public Administration Neli Bandara Hapuhinna has called public sector employees not waste time on mobile phones viewing Facebook or WhatsApp messages during work hours.
Mr Hapuhinna addressing employees at a ceremony to mark the New Year said that he had noticed that many of the employees were wasting time on their phones during work hours.
“We are considering whether a circular should be issued on the matter”, he said.
He said, employees whether it is their private phone or not should avoid spending the whole day on the phone.
