Cloudy skies will prevail throughout the day over southern half of the island with morning showers/thundershowers expected in Southern coastal areas and evening rainfall in Sabaragamuwa, Western, North-western and Central provinces and in Galle, Matara and Mannar districts, the Meteorology Department said.
The Department said showers will occur in Eastern and Uva provinces and requested public to take precautions to minimise damages caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thunderstorms.
