Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando arrived at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for the second day today to provide a statement.
Rev. Fr. Fernando provided a seven hour statement to the CID yesterday over a complaint made by the Director of the State Intelligence Service Major General Suresh Sallay.
The Supreme Court earlier told the CID to provide a time for the Rev Fr Fernando after he did not call over at the CID on two previous occasions.
He had filed a Fundamental Rights petition in the Supreme Court seeking an injunction restraining any attempt to arrest him by the CID. However the CID told courts that he will not be arrested.
Director of State Intelligence Service, Major General Suresh Sallay had lodged the complaint in the CID last month with regard to the comments made by Rev Fr Fernando regarding allegations related to the Easter Sunday attack were defamatory.
