Colombo Fort Magistrate Court further remanded All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) Leader Rishad Bathiudeen, who is currently being held by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) until September 1.
Colombo Fort Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage further remanded the ex Minister following the submissions by the CID that he gave priority to a company owned by Ibrahim Ahamed, one of the suicide bombers responsible for the 2019 April 21st Terror Attacks, by providing scrap metal and copper owned by the Ministry of Industries.
The Court was also told that funds generated from the transaction was utilized for terrorism related activities.
The ACMC Leader has been in CID custody since April this year after being arrested along with his brother Riyaj Bathiudeen on charges aiding and abetting the Easter Sunday attackers.
