The Samagi Jana Balawegaya has called for a major protest in Colombo on November 16 on a range of issues including the shortage of fertiliser.
SJB MP Harin Fernando who was appointed as the Wattala organiser last week addressing a press conference today (8) said that they hope to get down farmers for the protest while other sectors too have been invited for the protest at Hyde Park.
He said that the protest will also be on a range of other issues including the cost of living and shortages of gas, cement and other items.
Mr Fernando said that due to protests held the previous plans to arrest Rev Fr Cyril Gamini have now been shelved.
