Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has declared that he was ready for early Presidential elections.
Mr Premadasa addressing the executive committee of the combined opposition at a meeting today said that the opposition was ready to support any move to have an early Presidential elections.
He said that it was wrong to adjust the electoral calendar and it was an undemocratic move.
However, if the government hopes to bring a proposal to have early Presidential elections, the Opposition was willing to support such a move, he said.
He said that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya was ready to accept the challenge for an early Presidential election.
Mr Premadasa said that his party was ready with the opposition to carryout a national programme.
He said under a SJB President they will also go on to have the local elections that has been postponed and thereby will ensure the rights of the people.
