‘Sarvajana Balaya’ alliance vows to keep up hopes of Gotabaya voters

News

The new political alliance – ‘Sarvajana balaya’ launching their political campaign have vowed to keep the hopes of the 6.9 million who voted to elect Gotabaya Rajapaksa to power.

‘We want to correct the mistakes made by Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Basil Rajapaksa and P.B.Jayasundara who betrayed hopes of the 6.9 million who voted’,  leader of the Jathika Jana Balawegaya Leader and Executive member of the new alliance Wimal Weerawansa said addressing the first rally in Nugegoda.

He said they were giving a guarantee to the public not to make mistakes again by making a new avenue to the public.

He said there was no way they would get Gotabaya Rajapaksa back on stage

‘Today is a historic day, as we are giving a message that the patriotic forces are still alive though Gotabaya Rajapaksa fled the country after betraying the mandate given by the public.’, he said.

He said they would bring an end to the Ranil – Basil collective which is trying to make the country the colony of foreign countries.

He said that President Wickremesinghe was on an agenda of making the country a colony of India by giving permission for Adani to put up a power station in Mannar while also trying to sell the Telecom and the airlines.

Mr Weerawansa said that distribution of lands to people was a similar programme which took place in Bihar in India where a system was provided so that the land ownership eventually ends with large companies.

He said having a oil pipe line connection, amalgamating the customs, granting permission for the use Indian currency and the implementation of the proposed ETCA agreement were all not favourable to the country.

‘Ranil, Sajith (Prmadasa) and Anura (Kumara Dissanayake) are all saying they are for the full implementation of the 13th Amendment, but people should keep in mind that all don’t hold the same view’, he said.

The Leader of the Mavubima Janatha Party Dilith Jayaweera, Senior leader of the Mavubima Janatha Party Hemakumara Nanayakkara,  Pivithuru Hela Urumaya Leder MP Udaya Gammanpila, Yuuthukama group leader MP Gevinudu Kumaratunga, MP Channa Jayasumana, General Secretary Communist Party Dr G.Weerasinghe and Democratic Left Front Deputy Secretary D.V. Thilakasiri and former Governor of the eastern province Ms Anuradha Yahampath addressed the gathering.
