Police says no breakthrough has been made regarding the investigations into the murder of businessman Dinesh Schaffter though several clues are being followedup.
Police spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said that investigations are being carried out by several teams and they are closely studying CCTV footage from several locations.
According to CCTV footage anyalised so far it appears that Mr Schaffter had left his Flower Road residence and directly proceeded to the General Cemetery Borella where he was found inside the car strangled.
Investigators are also drawn attention of a SMS sent from Mr Schaffter’s phone to Cricket Commentator Brian Thomas who has been questioned over the incident as a large sum of money taken by Mr Thomas from Mr Schaffter had not been returned.
The message sent from Mr Schaffter phone after he left his home on the particular day of his death indicated that he was waiting for Mr Thomas.
However Mr Thomas says he had immediately responded to the message as he had no plans to meet him and said he did not understand the message.
Footage from some 42 CCTV cameras have been collected from the locations so far.
