Sinopec to begin fuel distribution soon
Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekara stated that the first fuel cargo of the Sinopec fuel has commenced discharging and the second fuel cargo is due to arrive tomorrow(02).
He added, "Entry of new retail suppliers to the domestic market will ease the forex requirements for petroleum products as the suppliers will bring in products on a 12-month financing facility from their principal investors with no forex requirements from the domestic financial institutes".
Once the contracts are signed with the fuel station dealers, Sinopec will start its retail petroleum operations with 150 fuel stations throughout the island.
