As a depression, winds and incessant rain swept across Sri Lanka, local authorities said on Thursday that it was safe for tourists to travel to and visit the country.
In a statement, Sri Lanka Tourism said that while certain regions may experience seasonal rainfall, the situation is being closely monitored by national authorities.
“Sri Lanka remains safe and open for travel and tourism,” it said adding that major tourist destinations were operating as usual, with hotels, transport services, and attractions continuing without disruption.
It said comprehensive safety measures are in place, with tourism partners working closely alongside local authorities to ensure your comfort and security while weather updates are provided through official channels, enabling travellers to plan their journeys with confidence.
