Due to the temporary closure of Heathrow Airport following a large fire at a nearby electrical substation, SriLankan Airlines flights UL 503 (Colombo to London), scheduled to depart at 12:50 hrs and UL 504 (London to Colombo), scheduled to depart at 20:40 hrs on 21 March 2025, will not operate, the Airline said.
SriLankan apologised for the inconvenience caused and said necessary arrangements are being made for affected customers.
‘The airline is closely monitoring the situation and will resume flights to London as soon as Heathrow reopens.

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
