‘Aswesuma’ recipients were seen at state banks collecting their allowances after the government announced banks would be open today only for low-income beneficiaries.
State Minister of Finance, Shehan Semasinghe said Rs. 4.3 billion has been credited to bank accounts of 689,803 beneficiaries under the first phase.
He said Rs. 15 billion is earmarked to assist 1.5 million shortlisted beneficiary families.
