The Inter-University Students Federation’s Convenor Wasantha Mudalige was arrested today during a protest march in Colombo.
The IUSF organized a protest march demanding the government to release arrested activists, reduce the cost of living, forming of a people’s council and to re-open universities.
The protestors also charged that President Wickremesinghe is involved in politics and deals with the Rajapaksa’s.
The march that commenced from Lipton roundabout headed towards President’s House in Fort via Union Place. Police used water cannons and tear gas to disperse the protestors at Slave Island.
