Police have arrested the suspected gunman who shot and injured a person in Koggalla, Ambalanthota on March 31.
Two assailants on a motorbike shot the victim at his house on the night of March 31 before fleeing the location.
The Tangalle Division Crime Investigation Unit commenced a probe into the incident and were able to arrest the suspected gunman yesterday from Koggalla, Ambalanthota along with the locally manufactured firearm that was allegedly used to carry out the shooting.
The suspect, a 26-year-old Sooriyawewa resident, was handed over to the Ambalanthota Police for further investigations.
