Four suspects arrested over the triple murder in Mamadala, Ambalantota were produced before the Hambantota Magistrate's Court today (4).
The court ordered three of the suspects to be remanded till February 13. The court ordered that the 13-year-old juvenile suspect who was among the arrested be sent to the Kithulangoda Detention Centre.
A group of around six persons had attacked those who were at a house in Mamadala in Elegoda East, Ambalantota on the night of February 2. The ensuing clash resulted in three persons who were at the house being hacked to death. The victims were an occupant of the house and two of his friends.
The victims were identified as Hettiarachchige Prabath Indika (39), Hewakumanayake Rasika Priyadarshana (45) and Madawa Udayanga Mallikarachchi (34). They were residents of Elegoda and Mamadala.
Police investigations are ongoing to arrest two more suspects in connection with the triple murder.
