Large crowds gathered at the ‘Jayaratne Respect Home’ funeral parlour in Borella today to pay their last respects to veteran actor Jackson Anthony who passed away last morning (9).
Prominent figures such as former President Mahinda Rajapaksa as well as religious leaders of different faiths gathered to pay their respects.
A wreath was sent by President Ranil Wickremesinghe expressing his condolences to the late actor and his family. The President is due to pay his last respects later.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
