Three youth were drowned in the Katugahagalge tank in Buttala and their bodies were recovered today (15) morning, Police said.
The three of them who were students of Mahanama National School in Monaragala had gone to the tank for a bath on Saturday evening and had drowned, police said.
However villages had searched the tank only on Sunday morning when they found two motor cycles and their bags on the bank of the tank.
Meanwhile the family members had complained to the police.
Two of the students were 19 years of age and the other 20 years old.
