Three persons of the same family were injured when a large tree collapsed on to their parked vehicle in Mahawewa, Koswadiya in the Puttalam district today.
The vehicle was completely damaged.
Villagers said that it was with difficulty that they managed to rescue the family members including a seven year old child.
They were residents from Wattala and were heading back from Chilaw.
At least three deaths caused by trees falling on to them, have already been reported in the Puttalam district in the past three days. Islandwide at least seven such deaths have been reported.
