Former MP K.K. Piyadasa submitted his deposit to the Election Commission today (1), as an independent candidate for the Presidential election set for September 21.
In addition Mr. Ajantha de Zoysa and Mr. Sirithunga Jayasuriya, the candidates for the Ruhunu Janatha Party and the United Socialist Party, respectively, have also made deposits with the Election Commission today.
Minister of Justice Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe also paid the deposit today to contest the Presidential elections under the National Democratic Front party.
So far deposits have also been paid by President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, former Deputy Minister Sarath Keerthiratne to contest the upcoming presidential polls.
