Fire fighters rescued 12 persons including children from a shopping complex destroyed in a fire in Kiribathgoda today (17) morning, Police said.
Five persons were hospitalised with breathing difficulties.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Meanwhile a spokesman for the live 24 website said their office located at the same building was affected.
"Our office was affected by heavy smoke, though there were no damages by the fire itself", an employee at the website said.
