Twenty year old girl becomes bus driver to maintain family
A 20 year old girl who completed her G.C.E. (A/L) examination has come out to take up employment as a bus conductor to maintain her family.
Asekala Madhuwanthi from Boosa who was educated at the Deva Pathiraja National school passed the A/L exam with three Credit passes and has also enrolled for a course in motor mechanism at the Vocational Training Authority in Boosa.
Her ambition is to become a motor mechanic in the future.
Her father used to sell Thembili to make a living, but as he had undergone an operation he had to give up his job while her mother too is not well.
Madhuwanthi follows the motor mechanism course on weekdays and works as a conductor over the weekend to maintain her family.
