Two arrested over assault of Maganeguma chairman and executive Director

News

Two trade union members of the Maganeguma road construction project have been arrested over the assault of the Chairman and an Executive Director of the project, Police said.

The two officers were assaulted after the traditional new year party at the project office in Nuge Road, Peliyagoda.

One of them arrested was the Presidents of the Drivers union and other a member of the union.

Five killed in helicopter crash

Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
