The drivers of a bus and a lorry have been placed under arrest over the deaths of two foreigners in an accident at Gurubebila, Midigama on the Matara-Colombo Road, Police said.
Two foreigners were killed in the road accident on Tuesday (30) involving a bus and lorry. Among the deceased was a Russian male aged 27.
The accident occurred when the tourists’ scooter collided with a bus travelling from Matara to Colombo and overturned. They were run over by a lorry that was passing in the other direction.
Further investigations into the incident are currently being carried out by the Midigama Police.
