Two staff members of the hotel in Galle where the England Cricket Team is currently staying in have tested positive for COVID-19, health authorities confirmed today.
The two infected staff members are attached to the hotel's kitchen and are residents of Weligama and Rathgama. They were subjected to PCR tests after showing symptoms. Hotel management stressed that there was no direct contact at anytime between the two staff members and members of the England squad.
Ten staff members have been assigned by the hotel to serve the needs of the England squad at the Galle Cricket Stadium for the duration of the first Test against Sri Lanka. These staff members were subjected to PCR tests prior to the match and have tested negative, the hotel management added.
