(UPDATED) - Myanmar nationals rescued off the northern coast over the weekend have been put for a 14 day quarantine period, officials said.
Earlier there were plans to hand over the 105 refugees rescued to the Police before being produced in courts.
However, following discussions it has been decided to place them under quarantine.
The persons rescued which includes women and children were accommodated in Navy camp after undergoing a medical check up at the Thellipalai hospital late last night.
