A van driver was arrested today after a five year old pre-school child was thrown of a van and killed in a road accident in Wellawaya, Police said.
At the Karandagolla – Hunuketiya junction the van door had opened suddenly and the child was thrown out on to the road.
The student who had got into the van from the Montessori at St Mary’s church in Wellawaya and was proceeding home when the accident took place.
The child W.M. Anuhas was pronounced dead on admission.
