A 34-year-old resident of Omanthai who was stabbed at a birthday party in Vavuniya succumbed to injuries today (26) morning, Police said.
The deceased is the husband of the 21 year old woman killed on Saturday by a group of unidentified men who stormed into a house in Vavuniya, stabbed several people at the party, locked the doors and set the house on fire by throwing a petrol bomb.
The man died from severe stab and burn injuries at a private hospital in Jaffna while other injured persons including several children are being treated at the Vavuniya district general hospital.
Vavuniya police has commenced investigation and in search of the suspects.
