A bomb threat was reported on another Vistara flight -UK-131 from Mumbai, India, and the flight with 107 passengers, one infant, and 8 crew onboard landed safely at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) today, Airport and Aviation Services said.
Accordingly, all passengers were swiftly evacuated from the A-320 aircraft to the passenger terminal building, and the safety of all passengers was assured, the department said.
This is the second such incident where the same Indian passenger flight made an emergency landing at BIA on October 19 following a bomb threat which turned out to be a hoax after a thorough security search, officials said.
The Vistara Airlines flight carrying 96 passengers and eight crew members was heading from Mumbai to Colombo. It made an emergency landing 10 minutes before the scheduled time of 3 p.m on October 19.
