The government has sought the assistance of the World Bank to purchase essential medicines currently in shortage at government hospitals.
State Minister of Production, Supply, and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals Channa Jayasumana said there was a positive response to a request he made at a meeting with World Bank’s Regional Director for South Asia, Lynne Sherburne-Benz today.
Minister Jayasumana said he thanked the World Bank for providing the financial assistance to purchase Pfizer vaccines.
