A 38-year-old woman was shot dead when gunmen opened fire at a house in Matugama on Tuesday (15) night, police said.
Two unidentified gunmen killed the mother of three while her husband and children who were inside the house narrowly escaped death.
Matugama police have commenced investigation into the motive behind the killing and are in search of the suspects involved. Police said T-56 firearm shells have been found from the shooting scene.
