Young professional from political parties today called on youth to rally round to show solidarity with former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, after claiming that the arrest of the former leader was political vengeance by the NPP government.
The Samagi Jana Balawegaya, Sri Lankda Podu Jana Tharuna Peramuna, Ceylon Workers Congress, Sarwajana Balaya, United National Party, Lanka Janatha Party and several other organisations were represented.
They called on the public to arrive in Colombo tomorrow to show their support to Mr Wickremesinghe and protest against the government’s decision.
The hearing of Mr Wickremesinghe’s case where his lawyers will make a second attempt to secure bail for him will be taken up at the Fort Magistrate courts at 1.30 p.m.
