Former President Secretary Saman Ekanayake released on bail

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has granted bail for former President Secretary Saman Ekanayake with two sureties of Rs. 2 million each for the case filed over the alleged misuse of public funds involving former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Police said that suspects involved with the Akuregoda double murder had deleted data from their mobile phones following the crime. Also, they are scheduled to be produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.

Mother killed,  child injured in road accident at Mahiyanganaya

A 59-year-old woman was killed while a child sustained injuries, and was admitted to the Mahiyanganaya Hospital for treatment in a road accident that occurred near the 48th milepost on the Mahiyanganaya to Diyatalawa road by a private bus.
