A 27-year-old youth was hacked to death by an unknown group early this morning at his residence, police said.
The victim is identified as Muththaiya Ketheeswaran from Sivapuram, Paranthan.
Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that an unknown group came to his residence early this morning and attacked him with sharp weapons at the gate.
Paranthan police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
