There will be no changes to the schedule of the ongoing GCE Advanced Level Examination owing to the present situation in the country with regard to COVID-19, Education Ministry Secretary Prof Kapila Perera stated.
Issuing a statement, the Secretary stated that the A/Level examination, which commenced on October 12, has been conducted successfuly thus far and will continue until November 6, as previously scheduled.
He however, noted that the ministry has taken into account, representations made by teachers working at examination centres where quarantine curfews are in effect with regard to difficulties they face in finding transport to travel to and from the centres. Discussions will be held with the Treasury to look into providing relief to such teachers, he added.
