At least seven persons were killed and more than 40 others were injured when a bus ran off the road after colliding with a three-wheeler and a bridge in the Madurankuliya area of the Puttalam district today morning, Police said.
The bus was packed with more than 100 passengers on its way to Jaffna from Colombo
Passengers said the bus was travelling at high speed when it met with the accident and it was carrying passengers heading to offices located in Puttalam as well.
The seven passengers killed were in the passenger bus. The injured were rushed to the Puttalam hospital.
