The Bribery Commission has informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate that it hopes to re-file the case against MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage at the Special High Court.
MP Aluthgamage has been accused of misusing funds worth Rs 53 million while purchasing sports equipment during his tenure as Sports Minister in 2014.
The Bribery Commission told court that they had sought the Attorney General's opinion and were waiting for his response on whether or not the case would be filed at the Special High Court.
Accordingly, Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne ordered Bribery Commission officials to inform court on their future course of action on April 30.
