All individuals involved in the Easter Sunday attacks have been arrested while most of them had committed suicide, acting IGP C D Wickramaratna said yesterday (May 06).
While pointing out that the two bomb specialists who were linked to the attacks had also died, Mr. Wickramaratne noted that explosives which were hidden with the motive of using them in future had also been discovered.
He also observed that the religious activities of Muslim devotees have been taking place without any interruptions and in quite a few places Catholic devotees have resumed services.
Meanwhile, the acting IGP said that awareness is being created among parents and students regarding security measures which will be in operation at schools.
"This is not because there is a direct threat on schools. But everyone must understand the manner in which security measures must be undertaken," Mr. Wickramaratne emphasised.
The Acting IGP also requested the public to refrain from believing misleading information on social media sites and instead obtain reliable information from the secuirty forces.
