Another batch of rehabilitated ex-LTTE cadres released

Another group of former LTTE cadres who successfully completed their rehabilitation program were released and handed over to their relatives at the Poonthottam Army Camp in Vavuniya yesterday (26).The ceremony was held at the camp under the patronage of Commissioner General of Rehabilitation, Major General Janaka Rathnayake. 

Accordingly, eight former LTTE cadres were handed over to their relatives by military authorities. A total of 22 former LTTE cadres are still undergoing rehabilitation at the camp. 

Addressing the ceremony, Maj. Gen. Rathnayake said 12,186 former LTTE cadres have already completed their rehabilitation and have been successfuly integrated into society. This is amounts to a percentage of about 99% of the total number of surrendered LTTE cadres.
