Security forces have discovered a facility which was expected to be used as a training centre of National Thowheed Jamath (NTJ) leader Zahran Cassim in Valaichchenai.
It is reported that security personnel had discovered 236 gelatnite explosive sticks stuffed inside a PVC tube along with an acid barrel at the facility which is under construction.
One suspect who was identified as the owner of the facility was arrested and had revealed that moves were underway to set-up an underground bunker within the premises of what would have been a training centre.
Previously, two training facilities believed to have been used by suspected suicide bomber Zahran Cassim were discovered in Kattankudy and Nuwara Eliya.
