Basil's wife and daughter again fail to answer summons

The wife and daughter of former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa have failed to appear before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into serious acts of fraud, corruption and abuse of power (PRECIFAC) yet again today. 

Puspha Rajapaksa and Theja Rajapaksa had repeatedly failed to answer summons issued by the commission, which wants to record their statements in connection with a probe into alleged misuse of aircraft belonging to the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF). 

It is reported that the commission has been informed that the duo are presently overseas. 

Meanwhile, Basil Rajapaksa, who was arrested by the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) yesterday in connection with a separate investigation, was granted bail after being produced before the Matara Magistrate's Court.
