The Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) has urged all Sri Lankans to exercise their franchise in a peaceful manner during the presidential election tomorrow (Nov 15).
BASL urged all candidates, political parties and their supporters to respect Rule of Law, and to assist election officers, and security personnel engaged until the results are announced.
Issuing a statement, BASL President Kalinga Indatissa also called on all media outlets to report facts impartially in keeping with the relevant laws.
The President's Counsel also urged the Election Commission and the Acting Police Chief to take action against law offenders irrespective of their social status.
