The Shivan Foundation in Jaffna and Kandy urged the people to light a lamp in front of their residences on May4 at 7.00pm as a gesture to thank those healthcare workers, medical personnel, members of tri- forces who engaged in the battle against the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country, the organization said.
The organization said that the goodwill gesture is to express that we as citizens are grateful to those individuals who risk their own health and work tirelessly to keep our communities safe.
It requested locals to light a lamp on the evening of May 4 and share the pictures of it on their social media profiles to express solidarity among on the frontline against the global pandemic.
