The body of a baby boy has been recovered from the Castlereigh reservoir today (Aug 17), police said.
A group of fishermen who had spotted the floating body had alerted the Hatton police regarding the child.
It is believed that the new born baby had been thrown into the Dickoya canal before its body had reached the Castlereigh reservoir.
The body had been recovered at the Wana Raja area where the canal and the reservoir meet.
Police said that the body will be handed over to the judicial medical officer of the Dickoya Base Hospital for an autopsy following a magisterial inquest.
