Bus drivers in Meegamuwa stage strike over assault of bus conductor by police

Bus drivers operating along the Meegamuwa-Halawatha route have commenced a strike action over the assault of a bus conductor at the Meegamuwa Police station.

The protestors allege that a bus conductor was beaten by police officers inside a room at the Police Station.

The injured conductor is now receiving treatment at the Marawila Base Hospital.
